America brought their 50th Anniversary Tour to the beautiful Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana this weekend.  The band, was formed in London in 1970 by Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley. Sadly, Dan Peek passed away in 2011. The Boomers were out in force, packing the venue as you would expect. Throughout the 90 minute performance and in front of a huge video screen showing vintage photographs and video from their careers, the band played all their hits. Along the way, Bunnell and Beckley shared stories of attending school in England as Air Force Brats in the late 60's, sneaking into London to catch the music scene, seeing the Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who and others.   They also opened for many of these bands while they were still teenagers.
Opening the show with "Tin Man" and closing the night with an encore of "A Horse with No Name".  In between, the crowd was on their feet many times as the band performed "Daisy Jane", "I Need You, "Ventura Highway", "Sandman", "Sister Golden Hair" and others.   In addition to Bunnell and Beckley, the band is made up of long-time member, Richard Campbell on bass/vocals, Ryland Steen on drums and Steve Fekete on lead guitar, keyboards and vocals.
