The issue is simple
— Indianapolis needs a public transportation plan for the future health of the city — but the answer is far from it.
I have mostly relied on mass transportation, rides from gracious friends and family, and my own two feet to get me from one place to the other throughout the course of my life. On Tuesday, a mass transit bill passed that will make transit easier for me and many others in Indy.
There are too many people in this city held back from employment opportunities, educational opportunities, as well as social services, health clinics, and grocery stores simply because our city has not invested in creating a transportation system that serves all.
